I just had this exact conversation with my friend yesterday that we have managed to make clinical, every aspect of tech. Nothing comes from empathy in tech. We both started in Human Factors and Human Centered Design and the unregulated turn of tech has been at the expense of a society that has lost large swaths of empathy. Recently I tried reaching Zoom support only to realise I was talking to a bot. Go Figure!
I think we are nearly at that moment of straw breaking the camel's back. This is us!
This is the core of my research for the last 6 years and in the reversal of R. v. Wade it has become mission critical as this is all so connected to the role AI plays in healthcare spaces. It’s frightening - even.
I love this! I’ve seen very few people talk about the subject of culture as it relates to LLMs and as a Latina have recognized the implications the technology has on my identity and sense of self.

I agree, and it really does say something about our society. What happened? Why there is a loneliness crisis? I need to research more about this.
